Bride

In 2012, I moved to western Kentucky (700+ miles away) for a job and had been away for several months.  Camron and I would talk via Skype, and from time to time we would meet up in a place that was halfway for each of us.

During one particular weekend, he wanted to meet in Asheville, one of my favorite cities in eastern USA.  It was 3 hours further for me, but worth it because I knew there would be good food! hahaha...

We spent a day at the Biltmore, where we had a good time but I noticed that he was acting very strange.  Later, we went to the Grand Bohemian Hotel for a beautiful dinner- there was even valet parking!

After enjoying our meal, Camron reaches across the table for my hand and pops the question (he left out all the fluffy stuff and the one knee thing).  But before I could respond, the waiter stopped by to pick up our plates and to ask if we'd like dessert.

After asking for cheesecake and a to-go box, I began to giggle... apparently taking too long again because the waiter returned with our requests.

So after two interruptions I was able to respond with, "Yes I will."

For those of you who are curious, Camron didn't actually have a ring for me when he proposed.  Instead, he opted to get my input and we designed our own ring  together through www.DoAmore.com.  He added a special touch to our story by saving up lots and lots of recyclables, selling them and using the money to buy the ring-- just because he knew that it would mean a lot to me!

After the weekend was over, we did have to go our separate ways for several more weeks, as I gave notice at my KY job and moved back home to SC to begin planning our fall wedding!

Groom

I proposed over dinner in Asheville after touring the Biltmore.  I had steak- I think maybe she had something they grew at the farm... very delicious.  She said yes.  I waited until she was full because I knew I would have a better chance.
