It was the weekend of my birthday (actually the night before), and being the workaholic that I was, my friend/ roomie, Deanna insisted that it was high time that I buy some cute shoes and go out. So we did.
At the martini bar, I sat sippping a blueberry martini, my friend to the left. To the right was an empty space where people would step up to make their orders. I heard his voice call out to the bartender, "Leanne, get my cousin's wife a drink... it's her birthday."
So I did what any fun girl would do... I spun around in my stool and squealed, "Hey! It's my birthday, too..." So he asked what I was having and bought the same drink for Joy.
We talked for about five minutes and then he went on his merry way. I spent a couple hours chatting with Joy about her son, Trey, and all the other awesome things about life, loved her to pieces, and when it was time to go, exchanged business cards.
Never thinking I'd see Camron again, we all parted ways and continued to celebrate the evening with our own sets of friends. But the next day, he sent me a text that read, "Today is your real birthday, so Happy Birthday." He had swiped my number from Joy!
Let's just say we have talked every day since.
